The development strategy of subsistent or semi commercial maize farming system

Abstract Subsistent/semi commercial farmers were very slow to adopt the new technology of maize cultivation, although introduction could be done by farmers, economies and compatible with farmer’s socio-culture. Generally, that was caused need high inputs (i.e. superior seed varieties, fertilizer, pesticides), other sides orientation cultivation subsistent/semi for food security, limited money bought inputs, shop in sub district/village levels nothing. The consequence not extend back existing after character building had finished. research conducted on 3 (three) group planted area 15 hectares South Timor Tengah district, East Nusa Tenggara province 2017-2018. showed problems overcome guiding farmers/farmer’s among 1-2 times planting institutional i.e. clinic village level.
